A review of Haveley Hey Primary School by Stephen Marney written on Wednesday 27th of January 2010
My father went to Haveley Hey, and I followed him in about 1959. We had the same maths teacher, who was probably in his 70's or 80's by then... I always remember the Headmaster, Mr. Thomas arriving at school one day day with his brand new Morris 1000.
My best memory, however, was when I managed to skip class to try to find some would-be defacers of property, namely the Bedford Dormobile of arguably one of my most feared teachers, Mr Evans, who seemed to delight at making a rather demure student, called Susan Byrne, cry by taking advantage of her somewhat sensitive nature.
This, of course, would not be tolerated today... and had I not been 10 years old, would have taken action against this tyrant. I assume that, like me, Susan is now around 56 or 57 years old and may not remember.
But I do.... Regards and best wishes Susan, and to all my classmates..
regards, Stephen.... Stephen@Marney.TV .
