In the early 1980s…before ‘Madchester 🎸’ I used to rush from work near Ardwick Green to ‘Michael Andrew the Baker’ bakery shop on London Road most lunchtimes. I’d try and get there before the queue started to build up outside ! ….The speciality was the double crusty cob sandwich. A large crusty cob with 2 knife cuts. Both cuts filled with your filling of choice. Mine was cheddar cheese salad ! Yum 😋.

It was one of those places that I thought would’ve been there forever 😥….

Needs to be remembered as being one of if not ‘the’ best bakery shops in Manchester !

Every thing ‘good’ goes…eventually and we’re left with intensive, factory produced , nationwide, multi outlet clone blandness ! …. Progress ?.
